A Rainforest Retreat in the Gold Coast hinterland and beyond

Imagine waking to a chorus of rainforest birds and the dappled light of the sun as it peaks through the green canopy. Most Queensland rainforest accommodation has been cleverly designed to capture the splendour of this unique sub-tropical landscape with its towering figs, long slender palms, intertwined vines and mass of ferns, often close to a pristine rapid-filled creek.

Our region has many graded walking tracks leading to lush rainforests, hidden waterfalls, dramatic lookouts and some of the world’s last remaining warm temperate rainforest and Antarctic beech (Nothofagus moorei ) cool temperate rainforest.

The Scenic Rim is also home to the largest tract of sub-tropical rainforest in the world and most of it has been protected with world-heritage listing. The remainder is often carefully preserved by private landholders, many of whom love to share the intense beauty of the forest and its wildlife with visitors.
