Rainforests, waterholes and wildlife

About Scenic Rim rainforests, waterholes and wildlife

Queensland bushwalkers and visitors from around the world come to the Scenic Rim to be captivated by the magic of our world heritage national parks and privately-owned paradises – to immerse in these vast tracts of  unique forests and encounter their amazing array of plants, bird and other Australian wildlife including many rare and protected species.

Journey into a world of waterfalls, crystal-clear mountain creeks, chilled rock pools, rain-forests, ancient old-growth trees, as well as the classic eucalypts of the Australian bush.

The Scenic Rim is also an easy place to see Australia’s iconic kangaroos, wallabies, koalas and possums in the wild. A guided tour will help you identify species and know where to look for our shy rainforest wildlife.

Have you considered a place to stay, close to one of our parks?  This is ideal as a base while you explore hidden treasures and different walks on private land, in national parks, as well as other nearby Scenic Rim attractions.
